CLARE, N.S. – Acadian pride was on full display in the Municipality of Clare on National Acadian Day on Aug. 15 as the annual Tintamarre was held.

Acadian colours, coupled with lots of noise and enthusiasm, were part of the fun, which not only marked National Acadian Day, but was also the final day of the Clare Acadian Festival.

The Tintamarre is a vehicle "parade" in which people decorate vehicles, and themselves, and make noise — and lots on it – along the route. Spectators at roadside return the favour by displaying their own Acadian colours and making lots of noise. The Tintamarre travelled from Salmon River to Université Sainte-Anne in Church Point.
